Highlights of Informatica World 2025

Informatica World 2025 event, which is traditionally organised by Informatica, was a very comprehensive event where the most up-to-date topics in the fields of data, artificial intelligence and analytics were discussed.

In addition to the presentations of Informatica teams, the event had a very rich content with sessions where Informatica customers from different sectors shared their own experiences, presentations by independent evaluation organisations, hands-on lab studies and interactive demos. One of the topics that were mentioned during the sessions and one of the most curious topics for us was the features planned to be added to the IDMC platform in the near future. During the event, important information about Informatica's roadmap and vision was also shared. In this article, we will talk about the roadmap of the IDMC platform and Informatica's strategic orientations for the upcoming period.

CLAIRE Agents: Using AI Agents in Data Management

In recent years, ‘Copilot’ and ‘GPT’ based approaches have become prominent among artificial intelligence applications. Informatica responded to these developments and integrated CLAIRE Copilot and CLAIRE GPT features into the IDMC platform. Copilot (Predictive AI), which includes a large number of features within itself, for example, enables users to be guided step by step in data management processes and even automatically generate ETL developments, while the GPT (Conversational AI) solution offered content generation and automation support in areas such as querying data/metadata via prompts, making data quality rule suggestions, and generating SQL queries.

The image below provides a good summary of the stages CLAIRE has gone through so far;

Evaluation of CLAIRE in data management

This year, it is remarkable that a new stage in artificial intelligence has been reached: Agentic AI (Agents and Ensembles). Unlike simple recommendation systems, agent-based artificial intelligence is based on structures that plan, execute and manage the results of tasks from start to finish on their own. Informatica also announced the CLAIRE Agents concept by bringing this new approach to the IDMC platform.

Thanks to this new structure, users can now trigger end-to-end processes such as moving, cleaning, quality control or reporting data quality of a data set with a single prompt. CLAIRE Agents will plan this process, deploy the necessary services and execute the transactions in a structured and organised approach.

General overview of Claire Agents

CLAIRE Agents are artificial intelligence components that will integrate with different services of the IDMC platform for different data management scenarios. Below are the main functions offered by these agents:

  • Data Quality Agent: Regularly monitors data quality, proposes and applies rules.
  • Data Discovery Agent: Identifies and classifies quality, reliable and compatible data assets.
  • Data Lineage Agent: Automatically creates impact analysis between different systems.
  • Data Ingestion Agent: Enables complex ingestion and replication scenarios and provides transfers.
  • ELT Agent: Automates ELT tasks on different data warehouses and Cloud systems.
  • Modernisation Agent: Automatically moves data integration flows to the Informatica platform.
  • Product Experience Agent: Enriches product attributes from hierarchy/classification structures in Informatica MDM, automatically makes product entries and definitions.
  • Data Exploration Agent: Enables querying data with natural language on systems such as data warehouse and data lake, facilitates analysis processes.

In summary, after the Copilot and GPT era, CLAIRE Agents will move artificial intelligence to the role of ‘developer/executive’ directly, not just ‘assistant’.

Claire Agents are planned to be announced in Preview mode by the end of 2025 and will be released next year to be used in Production environments.

Finally, you can access the demo of Claire Agents during the event by clicking here. The whole video is long, but you can access the content about the Agents in about 10 minutes starting from the 18th minute.

AI Agent Engineering

With the addition of CLAIRE Agents to the IDMC platform, we will start to use artificial intelligence much more in data management processes and increase operational efficiency to much higher levels. However, Claire Agents are structures that make sense within the Informatica IDMC platform and serve to automate the tasks within this platform. In addition, another important need of organisations is to be able to design customised agents in line with the goals specific to their organisations. Therefore, one of the most important needs here will be for organisations to develop and use customised agents according to their own needs.

This capability, which Informatica introduced under the title of ‘AI Agent Engineering’, will allow users to create their own agents over predefined task templates and will enable us to develop agents just like we have been designing ETL developments on drag-and-drop screens for a long time.

AI Agent Engineering Use Cases

In this process, which is carried out through the new user interface, a trigger event (for example, when a file is received), tasks to be executed (data retrieval, conversion, quality control, etc.) and target systems can be defined for each agent. In addition, chain structures that link multiple tasks together are also supported. Thanks to this structure, multi-stage data processes can be defined in a single step.

Just like Claire Agents, AI Agent Engineering features are planned to be announced in Preview mode in 2025 and will be released in Production environments next year.

Data Governance & Data Quality

Informatica has long been the market leader in data governance, not only with its existing capabilities but also with its innovative approach that adapts to the rapidly changing data and artificial intelligence ecosystem. The 2025 roadmap reflects this approach and shows that the platform will continue to evolve in line with the latest needs - especially the governance of AI assets, flexible workflows and data access mechanisms.

On the data governance side, a comprehensive governance model is offered for both data and AI assets, going beyond traditional catalog capabilities.

Making information traceabla such as usage history of AI models and evaluation metrics versioning strengthens transparency and regulatory compliance. In addition, flexible workflow designs, federated access control and user-based usage statistics make governance processes more sustainable. In fact, we can easily think of the features expected to be added to the platform at this stage as the version of the data catalog studies that we have done on systems such as relational databases in the past can now be done on artificial intelligence models.

AI Governance Lifecycle

Data quality is one of the fastest developing areas of the platform. Now, data quality rules can be integrated not only within the system but also to external applications via REST APIs. The newly introduced Data Quality Agent allows organisations to manage quality controls in a centralised and automated way. At the same time, thanks to Data Observability capabilities, the behaviour of data streams can be monitored in real time and possible errors can be detected early. The review and correction of faulty data by the relevant teams is supported by end-to-end traceable workflows. In all these processes, AI-supported recommendations increase operational efficiency by accelerating responses.

In summary, Informatica's data governance and data quality solutions are being redefined to serve not only technical needs but also broader goals such as corporate trust and regulatory compliance.

Data Integration

Today, data integration is not just about data migration and transformation, but about building scalable and intelligent systems that are optimised for analytics and artificial intelligence applications.

Informatica CDI New Features

Innovations in data integration start with integration processes that support modern data lake and lakehouse architectures. The existing SQL ELT (Pushdown Optimisation) feature will be available to support many more functions specific to ecosystems such as Microsoft Fabric, Snowflake, Oracle, Google BigQuery, Databricks. Thus, data processing costs will decrease while performance will increase. Open Table Format (Iceberg, Delta, Hudi) support and advanced features such as time-travel, schema evolution strengthen the hands of data engineers.

Informatica offers both no-code and power-user level tools to simplify data engineering processes. Claire Copilot steps in to automatically create, summarise and enhance integration flows with best service recommendations. With the new Data Integration Agent architecture, processes such as ingestion, ELT, data quality and modernisation are also made more modular and smarter.

Another outstanding topic is the support of new generation data types and structures. In addition to structured data, modern data types such as unstructured documents, e-mails, PDFs, multimedia content and even vector databases will be supported.

All these developments show that data integration is not just an infrastructure activity, but has become a fundamental pillar of an organisation's AI and analytics strategy. Informatica's steps in this area aim to enable data teams to respond to modern needs in a fast, scalable and secure way.

All these exciting developments show that Informatica will continue to optimise data management processes by actively using artificial intelligence. CLAIRE is no longer just a recommendation engine, but a new generation UX layer that determines the user experience, shaped around all the services of the IDMC platform. Thanks to this transformation, users can focus more on direct business outcomes by reducing the time spent on technical details.
